Idaho Housing and Finance Association is seeking a Housing Counselor to join our Homebuyer Education team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing housing counseling and education to homeowners, building their financial capacity and helping them understand their housing options. The main focuses for counseling are default, pre-purchase, post-purchase non-default, and rental assistance (preparation/eviction).

Primary Responsibilities:

Work with clients on a one-one-one basis to provide education, guidance and referrals tailored to each client’s unique circumstances.
Perform housing counseling primarily for non-IHFA borrowers
Conduct financial analysis and affordability assessment based on information and documents provided by the client
Must obtain the HUD Housing Counselor and HUD HECM Counselor Certification

Position Qualifications:

2 to 4 years of experience in residential real estate lending, residential loan processing, loan closing, loan servicing, or a combination of education and experience in related fields
Experience with loss mitigation programs and loan counseling preferred
Must be able to obtain and maintain required counseling certifications
