Idaho Housing and Finance Association has an opening for a Housing Program Specialist that will review pre-approved applications to our mortgage assistance program called Homeowner Assistance Fund (HAF). This program was created to help eligible Idaho homeowners who have fallen behind on their mortgage payments or other housing-related expenses because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Primary Responsibilities:

Use Quality Assurance checklist to review files and document review and correspondence within the application portal
Correspond with applicants, staff, and vendors to obtain and verify documentation, field questions, and provide updates on file status
Submit requests for legal and vesting, create Note and Deed of Trust, and order and follow through on Notary Services
Monitor payment requests and payee information for consistency, review and approve payments, and provide ongoing communication with HAF team to ensure files are processed according to policies and procedures

Position Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university preferred, or equivalent experience
Demonstrated knowledge of regulations, policies, and procedures governing federal assisted-housing programs
Experience with budgets, federal grant administration, productivity monitoring, partner relations, and training on program policies and procedures
Strong ability to plan, organize, assign, and review work activities, follow instructions, meet deadlines, and organize work effectively
Proven ability to identify critical path barriers and process improvements, as well as identify training needs among personnel
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to prepare reports, studies, and correspondence
Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with colleagues and partners.
