Description
Idaho Housing and Finance Association is a leading organization dedicated to providing housing solutions and financial assistance to individuals and families in Idaho. We are currently seeking a professional to join our team as a Counseling Support Specialist. The specialist will play a crucial role in assisting with various counseling and support functions, ensuring the smooth operation of our housing counseling programs.
In this role, you will:
Answer initial housing counseling phone calls and provide information on counseling options
Conduct intake assessments for housing counseling clients
Create and organize counseling packets and maintain client files
Analyze financial information and input data into the software
Assign counseling files to counselors
Review closed files for compliance
Answer support questions for online homebuyer education programs
Assist with research, monitoring, and statistical data analysis of homebuyer education classes
Compile data for homebuyer education and housing counseling provided by IHFA
Handle general phone calls and communication with lenders and customers
Become a certified counselor
Requirements
5 plus years of experience in performing administrative functions
Housing industry or social service experience preferred
General knowledge of accounting principles
Self-directed and motivated with strong computer and communication skills
A four-year degree in a related field is desirable
Ability to prioritize and organize tasks effectively
Good interpersonal skills to communicate with a variety of individuals
Willingness to become a HUD certified housing counselor
Experience with Word and Excel preferred
Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
