JOB TITLE: Homeownership Program Manager

REPORTS TO: Director of Homeownership

By providing affordable housing, home repairs, skilled construction training, financial education, and volunteer opportunities the organization has transformed millions of lives, helped stabilize communities, and fostered economic vitality in the region. On average, the affiliate builds and renovates 100 homes in the Los Angeles region, ranking it among the largest affiliates nationwide.

Habitat for Humanity is seeking a Homeownership Program Manager who will manage a portfolio of Habitat LA developments through the Homeownership Program process, which includes identifying participants, providing case management, guidance, and resources to program participants from start to finish of their partnership with Habitat LA. The Homeownership Program Manager ensures that Habitat LA participants are served in a culturally relevant manner that respects applicants and maintains the values, standards, and reputation of the organization.


Program Management

Identify organizational needs and objectives.
Create and maintain a program budget.
Assign tasks and supervise program support staff.
Lead meetings and collaborate with various department leads.
Monitor and evaluate the project’s success.
Deliver progress reports and presentations.

Program Outreach  

Deliver information sessions and occasionally attend appropriate community events to promote services.
Identify and connect with similar service providers to maintain a resource and referral database.
Collaborate with marketing to develop and maintain current program and development collateral.
Connect the community to appropriate community resources and services to extend and/or leverage assistance beyond Habitat LA services.


Administration Duties as required of position for example but not limited to:
Attend/Participate in affiliate, department, and team meetings.
In conjunction with the Director, supervise the Homeownership Program Coordinator and any AmeriCorps Member(s), intern(s), and volunteer(s).
Revise written material including marketing material, PowerPoint presentations, program/event material, and website content.
Performs other duties, as assigned.


At least two (2) years’ experience in housing or real estate, financial management, or related area AND two (2) years of experience working with people in need of assistance.
Certification as a HUD Certified Housing Counselor (Possess a current HUD Counselor certificate at the time of hire OR attain certification within the initial 150 days of employment).
NCHEC HO229, HO247 and HO250 or comparable (Possess at the time of hire OR attain within 1 year of employment).
Other combinations of education and experience, if evaluated as equivalent, may be taken into consideration.
To perform this job successfully, the employee should have strong computer skills (e.g. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Must have the ability to learn other computer software programs as required by assigned tasks.
Must have access to a reliable internet connection.
Must have access to reliable transportation to perform job duties, a valid CA driver’s license and meet the state-required amount of personal automobile liability insurance.
Although no longer required, we strongly encourage all employees to be vaccinated against COVID-19 and will continue to require all employees to submit their vaccination status by the date of hire.

Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and a criminal background check.

The base pay range for this position is $26.44- $31.25. Exact offers will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
