Habitat for Humanity is seeking a Homeownership Program Coordinator who will be the first point of contact for anyone seeking support/resources. This position plays a key role in the success of the department’s goals. The highest priority for the coordinator is one-on-one support of applicants pursuing homeownership, education, and counseling through Habitat LA. The Homeownership Program Coordinator will work with potential applicants to assess readiness for homeownership, assist selected Partner Homebuyers to maintain program eligibility, guide group education participants to successful completion of education requirements, and assist counseling participants with the set-up and follow-up of their services

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Customer Service/ Applicant Support:

Review program applications for completeness and eligibility.
Ensure program participants remain informed of program requirements throughout the delivery of services.
Collect qualitative and quantitative program participant data to evaluate the success of programs.
Assist in preparing information for related grants and funding requests to support Homeownership Programs and the entire agency.

Administrative

Respond to and track all incoming calls from prospective applicants.
Schedule and organize meetings, events, education, and counseling sessions and maintain the home calendar.
Monitor budget, track expenditures, and process check requests.
Assist in preparing information for related grants and funding requests to support Homeownership Programs.
Participate in staff and Committee meetings as assigned and prepare written reports/minutes as assigned.
Support communication of program-related events through social media platforms.
Create presentations, summaries, and material to ensure better communication and company-wide understanding of programs.
Data entry activities using the HomeKeeper platform.
Perform general administrative duties as assigned.

Outreach

Communicate with partner families when post-purchase services and volunteer opportunities are offered.
Connect community to appropriate resources and services to extend and/or leverage assistance beyond the organization’s services.
Ensure accurate information is reaching the public and provide story concepts as related to the Homeownership and Housing Counseling programs.
Assist managers in providing ongoing opportunities for Habitat LA staff to deepen their connection to Partner Homebuyers.
Provide ongoing information to Habitat LA staff to strengthen cultural sensitivity, confidentiality, and empowerment of families in the program.

SUMMARY OF JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

At least two (2) years’ experience in housing or real estate, financial management, or related area AND two (2) years of experience working with people in need of assistance.
Certification as a HUD Certified Housing Counselor (preferred)
NCHEC HO229, HO247 and HO250 or comparable (preferred)
To perform this job successfully, the employee should have strong computer skills (e.g. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Must have the ability to learn other computer software programs as required by assigned tasks.
Must have access to a reliable internet connection.
Must have access to reliable transportation to perform job duties, a valid CA driver’s license and meet the state-required amount of personal automobile liability insurance.
Although no longer required, we strongly encourage all employees to be vaccinated against COVID-19 and will continue to require all employees to submit their vaccination status by the date of hire.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and a criminal background check.
Other Requirements: Travel to meetings and events as necessary

COMPENSATION

The base pay range for this position is $22.00 – $25.00. Exact offers will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
