
Website Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Chattanooga and the Tennessee River Valley
Responsibilities:
- Interview our clients with debt issues via telephone, video, or in person to offer advice on improving their financial situation
- Determine available monthly income after living expenses to meet credit obligations and offer possible alternatives for repaying debt
- Offer budget counseling to clients to assist them in managing and/or reducing their monthly expenses
- Provides counseling to homeowners on all housing issues in order to resolve problems and improve housing opportunities.
- Translate technical information about foreclosure matters to ensure homeowner understands the process.
- Works with clients on budgeting and credit to find long-term solutions to foreclosure issues.
- Evaluates homeowners’ eligibility for loss mitigation options and other alternatives to prevent foreclosure.
- Assists clients with the preparation of mortgage modification applications for submission to lenders.
- Follow up with both client and lender to ensure process moving in a forward direction.
- Negotiates mortgage modification agreements with lenders on behalf of customers.
- Educate homeowner on all options available to them with regard to their home.
- Participate in community outreach activities by representing CCCS at health fairs as needed.
- Other tasks, as assigned by management
