Position: Housing Counselor: Affordable Homeownership Foundation Inc. is a HUD approved, non-profit Housing Counseling AGENCY WHO works with very Low, low and moderate income individuals to help with Foreclosure Prevention Counseling, Financial Capabilities, Credit & Budget, First Time Home buyer and post PURCHASE COUNSELING. MUST be HUD Certified
The Counselor is responsible for counseling clients, developing working budgets, referring them to the appropriate agency as needed. The Counselor hired should have a working knowledge of the HMIS system and CounselorMax, but training can be obtained through our agency if the candidate is not trained on those systems. Counselor must have empathy.
Highest level of integrity and willingness to manage the program within the grant (or contract) requirements and to comply with all AHF policies and procedures;
·         Experience building and maintaining strong community partnerships, including effective public speaking; Bilingual Preferred but not Necessary
·         Ability to pass a criminal history background check, driving background check and able to provide proof of State required vehicle liability insurance;
·         Ability to work in a complex, fast paced, human service focused, environment.
Qualifications and Education Requirements: High School Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree is preferred but not necessary.  Preferred Skills: Must be computer literate. Must be able to use WORD, EXCEL, COUNSELORMAX and HMIS. Bilingual preferred but not necessary
