Our HCP (Housing Counseling Program) assists those in the community who are in need of support with foreclosure and eviction prevention, budget and credit counseling, and those who want to take the necessary steps to become first-time homeowners! We are looking for a passionate individual to join our equally driven Housing Team! We are a multi-cultural Human Services agency located in the University City area!

Duties and Responsibilities

Provide counseling services under HUD, PHFA, DHCD, National Industry Standards and best practices;
Perform one-on-one counseling for first time home buyers, mortgage delinquency/default, tax delinquency, rental delinquency, predatory lending and post-purchase;
Complete intake, analysis, and assessment of case to provide comprehensive recommendations and support to client;
Review client financial standing (credit history, income, and savings) to develop service plan (Action Plan) and goals;
Responsible for maintaining client case records in the database system (RX Office) and hard copy files in an up-to-date manner;
Work with banks, realtors, and lending institutions to help meet the needs of our clients;
Attend diversion court or mediations to prevent client mortgage foreclosure or rental eviction;
Provide follow-up with clients;
Help facilitate group educational workshops;
Advocates for needs of client families;
Perform outreach and recruit families for counseling and educational services;
Maintain a caseload of clients; and
Attend appropriate meetings, trainings, and housing-related events;

Qualifications:

Housing counseling experience preferred.
Must be HUD Certified.
Counseling specialty in Homebuyer, Foreclosure Intervention, or Diversion.
Knowledge of city, state and federal laws related to Housing, Mortgage Lending, Real Estate, and Economic development is recommended.
Experience with RX Office client management system.
Proficiency in the use of MS Office (Excel, Word), Google Workspace/Suite and the Internet for research purposes.
Proficient with teleconference systems (Zoom, Google Meet, etc.)
Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.
Bilingual encouraged.
